My two buddies....

From left to right: Deborah, me, E & Corey in the background.

I recently met up with 2 of my friends - Erika from 5th Avenue Bath Company and Deborah from Flying Needle Gallery. We had brunch at Big Daddy's Diner (on Park & 19th) and boy did we have a blast. While I've known Deborah for quite some time now and have grown to love and cherish our friendship more, I had never met Erika until Big Daddy brought us together (someone cue the Titanic song please?) The funny thing is though, Erika and I talk constantly on the phone. And I have been known to place frantic phone calls to either one of them with yet another one of my crises.

This week, it was Deborah's turn. My right hand was poised over my mouse which was poised over the "Submit" button and I needed some moral support. "Deborah!" I screamed, "I need you to hold my hand as I buy my ticket to Singapore (more on this later)." Cool and unflappable as a freshly shaken martini, Deborah chanted some Sanskrit saying that to me sounded like "Oh my gum gun-a-pate" as I hit the "submit" button to buy my ticket. "So did you do it?" she asked. "Yes, but it freakin' declined my credit card! WTF?" I screamed. So 3 more attempts, three more chanting and all 3 times my card got declined. It turns out that the stupid website (CEBU PACIFIC AIR) cannot really process credit card payments online. So my question is - why the hell would you pretend to have this capability then - dumbass!

Anyway, I've inconvenienced my entire clan in the Philippines and I have managed to mobilize a mini-army of angry Filipino women to storm the offices of Cebu Pacific to demand an explanation. Long story short, my mother managed to buy my ticket finally and so I'm now off to Singapore on December 19th to the 21st for Crater Lake's launch party. There.

About 6 weeks ago, Erika called me up and the conversation went like this -

E: Hey, what are you doing?

Me: Nothing. Stupid USPS has not sent me my Box 04s yet and I've been waiting for almost a month. I'm ordering 50 every week until they start sending me my supplies.

E: Sharonn don't do that. I did that once and they all came at once and now I have a basement full of boxes.

Me: E! They can't even send me the hundred I initially ordered. I doubt this stupid ordering website thing actually works, so you know what? I'm gonna keep ordering until they start shipping my boxes.

E: I'm telling you, you're gonna get a buttload of boxes one day and you're not gonna know what to do with them.

Me: Yeah whatev. Anyway, so what else is new?

So we talk about this and that as I absent mindedly order 50 Box 04s. I do this weekly ordering ritual for about 3 weeks then one day WHAM! I get slammed with more boxes than I can possibly store! E was right - they all came at once!!!

Sharonn - zero. USPS - 37. Damn.

So this post is basically just a little shout out to my 2 friends who mean the world to me and who for some reason or another have decided to still take my phone calls even in this age of caller ID. They have talked me off my ledge numerous times and given me that extra push I needed when I was feeling discouraged. I love them both dearly for their friendship, but most of all because E hooks me up with her absolutely divine Coffee Scrub that's been featured in numerous publications and because Deborah said she was gonna give me these. Deborah's got this amazing line of eco-friendly napkins that's just absolutely beautiful and would make a wonderful hostess gift.

So E and Deborah, thank you for always being just a phone call away. Thank you for taking all my crises seriously even when they're not, but I act like they are because I truly believe in my head that they are. E, if you can send me more coffee scrub as my thighs are slowly jiggling a little too much that it's ruining my equilibrium when I walk I'd really appreciate it. And Deborah, I promise that next time we get together for dinner and it's your turn to pay, I won't order 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and force you to sit there and watch me scarf down everything. I'll be gracious and well-mannered enough to order just 1 appetizer and 2 entrees! LOL!

More about Singapore in another entry, but if I have any readers out there who are in the Singapore area, please subscribe to our newsletter as CLC is coming to SG baby!

Pumpkins on Parade

Our Pumpkins on Parade Collection launches this weekend (er, hopefully). There's still a lot of stuff to do and I'm working as fast I can to make sure this launches in time. Why? Well for one, a lot of you have been asking about this collection (yes, Kathy and Jacqueline.) And two, because I'm really loving this collection. I'm wearing Sweet Pumpkin Tea right now and it's so warm and comforting. No wonder Fall is my favourite season that there ever did was!

More news to come, but I'll have to save that for my next few entries. For now, it's back to the studio to fill orders.
